First Olive Wood Serving Tray I Ever Sold
My dad managed to get his hands on a beautiful piece of olive wood, full of swirling grain and character. I decided it would make the perfect handmade serving tray for sliders or sushi. This project felt like my first serious step toward making woodworking pieces that other people might actually want to buy.
After sanding, shaping, and finishing the board, I brought it to a local craft show. To my surprise, this olive wood serving tray sold very quickly. Seeing someone spend their own money on something I built by hand was incredibly exciting and made me want to keep improving my woodworking skills.
