Low-Poly 3D Tree Model for My Driving Game
Once I had a working 3D car model, I needed something for it to dodge or crash into inside the game. A tree felt like the perfect obstacle for a driving game, so I decided to create a simple low-poly tree in Blender to test how collisions would feel.
For this project, I focused on keeping the design very basic so that I could move quickly and experiment with gameplay. The tree is built from simple shapes, but it still reads clearly in 3D and fits the style of the low- poly car. After bringing it into the game, I could start playing around with how it felt to drive near it, avoid it, or smack right into it depending on the driver's skill.

This is a sped-up video of my process for modeling the low-poly tree in Blender. Compared to the car, this one was much faster to make. Off camera, I spent a bit of extra time organizing the objects into proper collections so the scene stayed clean and the tree was ready to be dropped into the game as a collision object.
